orsell Common is just off the A320 from Chertsey to Woking. There is a free car park on Shores Road and further along there is a car park and cafe at Heather Farm, though there is very little shade in that part of the common.
This lovely wooded area near Woking is where HG Wells orginally had his aliens land in War of the Worlds.
Luckily there are no aliens now, just lots and lots and lots of trees. That means it is lovely and shaded so nice and cool for late afternoon walkies.
There are also a couple of ponds for a quick paddle; great for a hot doggy to cool down, as well as benches dotted around to sit down and take it all in.
