Bushy Park, Middlesex

Bushy Park is part of Henry VIII’s hunting area just north of Hampton Court Palace and is a large space that is ideal for letting a dog run about. There are two free car parks; one by the Diana Fountain (which often has cormorants sitting on the goddess’s head!) and one nearer the northern gate – follow signs for the Pheasantry Cafe.

There are still deer in the park, and a few horse riders passing through, so if your dog might chase it is probably not a good idea to let them off lead.

The Longford River supplies the fountains of Hampton Court and runs through Bushy Park providing a great chance for dogs to cool off.

20180217_101248There are benches in some areas and the Diana car park has a coffee kiosk with seats. The Pheasantry Cafe is not accessible for dogs but they also have a kiosk you can take dogs up to, as well as benches and toilets.

There is also a more formal water garden where dogs need to stay on lead.
